“My favorite things” song sung by Julie Andrews in the Film Sound of Music, has been stuck in my head and I guess maybe to some degree it inspired my sketching this week. So, some of my favorite things are:

Thunder and Lightning, the cracking and thunderous powerful feeling when the sky seems to tear a sunder, has always electrified me and inspired me. It always gives me a sense of power and awe, respecting the natural world.

Full moons speak to many and have affected humans constantly in lore and histories and life in general. I’m also attracted to it and find on nights of full moons I’m energized and feel inspired and most of the times can’t sleep. That reflected glow, illuminating so much in the nights and in ourselves.

Comic books, I’ve always enjoyed and still do, probably my first big adventures and forays into the unknown involved walking into dusty packed comic bookstores searching for hours for rare or interesting comic genres. So went kind of comic styled in this image.

Walking staffs, that tend to have character, Idk why but yeah I’m that person I love walking and when I do I want a 200cm staff by my side.

Minerals and stones, Still want to return to a museum my partner and I happened upon in Utah during our travels. It was wonderful exploring all the minerals and their formations, ahh memories.

Fennec Fox, well those cute little buggers stole my heart when I observe them in a natural protected habitat. Just found them beautiful and quirky and yeah what can you say. It’s like they got stuck in cute mode and that’s where development halted. But I will say I will not jump on the bandwagon to have one as a pet. I kind of feel a little saddened by that uptick in people’s current must haves. And I fear for the Fennec foxes that are adopted as a fad and not treated well by individuals that don’t realize their wild free spirits. Seriously though as cute as they are, I think he was a spontaneous insertion, just popped up peeking from behind the wall. Observing and hearing all.

Day 186-2

Anyhow it was fun playing with some techniques and just enjoying the process, now to get this song out of my head.

“My Favorite Things”

Richard Rodgers, Oscar Hammerstein II

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels
Door bells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I’m feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don’t feel so bad

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels
Door bells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I’m feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don’t feel so bad

When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I’m feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don’t feel so bad
